Over 350 participants took part in the King's Baton Relay covering routes in the capital for 3.6 kilometres as part of preparations for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games. It was organised by the Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports. It took place at the open area of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex, 9th November morning.
The handover of the King's Baton was officiated by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid, Minister of Development as Acting Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. The King's Baton Relay in Brunei Darussalam is an inspiring celebration of sports, culture and environmental stewardship. It also reflects the country's commitment to the values of the Commonwealth and continuous efforts to engage youth, promote healthy lifestyles and protect the environment.
